Shirley was a thoughtful, intelligent and kind human being. The Irish always say that a long life is not good enough but a good life is always long enough. I’m not sure that her good life was long enough as she always had so much more to contribute. Shirley had a growing family and the love and respect of her friends. When I think of her, I see her standing outside the kitchen on the deck of her house smiling as her grand daughters swim in the pool, dogs barking and wandering around nearby. I see her leading our Girl Scout Troop despite having a family of three kids and a demanding job. I remember her smile as we chatted at the Fireman’s Fair. Shirley was Navesink, my hometown. She stayed when so many others moved on and contributed to the community. Thanks Shirley - for the privilege of knowing you. Best. Jill
