Obituary of Deborah A. Johnson
Deborah A. (Caso) Johnson
Leonardo, NJ. - Deborah was born March 10, 1957 and passed away June 4, 2021. She passed at home with her loving family by her side after a brave and heroic two-year battle with Pancreatic Cancer. She was born and raised in Navesink, NJ, and nurtured her own family in the same community. Deb was a graduate of Mater Dei High School in 1975 and Duquesne University School of Pharmacy in 1980. She served local communities as a pharmacist for 40 years in Red Bank, Rumson, Ocean, Hazlet, and Atlantic Highlands. Deb had a passion for learning and discovery of the wonders of holistic healing, and was always eager to help family members on their wellness journeys. She also devoted herself to her spirituality, giving her time to St Agnes church as a parishioner and a eucharistic minister, volunteering to administer communion to senior citizens in King James who were no longer well enough to attend mass. Her greatest passion however, was her family, always sure to be in attendance for all of the games in the various sports they played, and to celebrate their achievements along the way. Deb faced her illness with courage and dignity as she endured the two years of challenging treatments. Along the way she set life goals that motivated her to face off against her illness, and she was victorious in participating in so many of the momentous events. She was the embodiment of her favorite motto - When life gives you lemons, make Lemonade. No matter the circumstances, Deb always saw the positive side in all aspects of her life. She was predeceased by her loving parents Modesto and Maryann Caso and her brother Joseph Caso. She is survived by her loving husband Jeffrey Johnson and children Brian Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Katelyn Russo, three beautiful grandchildren and her sister Michelle Corey. She also leaves behind an extended family of cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and many friendships forged over the years, especially her sisterhood of the Alpha Phi Sorority and two very dear friends Carrie Ens and Karen Zupancic. Deb left the world a better place than she found it, and enriched the lives of everyone who had the fortune of coming into her grace.
