Eleanor Mary Baldwin known as Ellie Baldwin born Eleanor Nye age 85 passed away 2/27/21 in Riverview Medical Center, NJ. With her family close by. A Memorial service will be held at the Bainbridge Community United Church of Christ 17751 Chillicothe Rd. Chagrin Falls, Oh 44023 with Pastor Brian Saxe officiating. Ellie Baldwin was born in Cuyahoga Falls Ohio to Mary and Norman Nye on 7/10/35. She graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School. She went on to earn a degree in Music Education from Westminster College PA and a master’s degree in religious education from Pittsburg-Xenia Theological Seminary 6/9/59. She worked for 25 years at ASM International as a research librarian and always had a love of books. Gathering data on materials for the organizations members and traveling with her husband to the ASM library in London to archive rare books. Ellie was very dedicated to her church and was a choir director for 25 yrs. and operated the nursery school program. She was a member of the church board and on numerous committees. Singing in her beautiful soprano voice in church often she helped spread the joy of God and the church to others. She passed this love of music on to countless people but especially her husband and children who learned to express themselves through music. Ellie and her husband Bud loved to travel often with Ellie’s sister Ginger and her husband Tom. She had a love of nature and affection for the many cats she adopted. As dancing partners and partners in life Ellie and Bud were quite the striking couple. Even if their height was so different they moved as one. Ellie was small in stature but large in our hearts. Eleanor Baldwin is survived by her husband Warren H. Baldwin, daughter Ruth Churak and her husband Tom Churak, sister Ginger Baxtor and her husband Tom Baxtor, grandchildren Stephen Maxwell Churak, Kevin Norman Churak and Emily Frances Churak. Neices Brigitte Sanow and husband Jamie Sanow, Charlie Shaver and wife Kathy. She is preceded in death by her Mother Mary Baldwin, Father Norman H. Nye and her son Danial Warren Baldwin.
