John J. Walsh Obituary

John J. Walsh May 26, 1951- August 4, 2020 John Jeffery Walsh died peacefully in the loving arms of his wife until the Lord welcomed him into the glory of heaven on August 4, 2020, in Long Branch, NJ. His large physical stature was far surpassed by the immenseness of his heart, compassion, and kindness. As a young man he attended Oratory Prep in Summit, NJ, and later served in the Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He held a variety of positions in the service industry and had the most fun with his own small business, Chores-n-More before retiring. He loved searching all over with his metal detectors for treasures left behind by someone else. More recently he especially enjoyed his time at home reading People and Rolling Stone magazines, watching old movies, any learning channel, Popeye cartoons, and of course his favorite team, the Giants. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marlene, loving sister Mary Beth, his caring Mother-in-law Geraldine, and his adoring nieces and nephews Jennifer, Madeline, Jonathan, and Ryan. He is also survived by his most supportive brothers-in-law, Peter and John, and sisters-in-law, Lisa, and Maria. Funeral arrangements will be private. Arrangements were entrusted to Posten McGinley Funeral Home..59 E Lincoln Ave...Atlantic Highlands NJ 07716.
