Patricia “Sunshine” Cairns July 11th, 1932 - February 28th, 2024

Patricia “Sunshine” Cairns, 91, passed away on February 28th, 2024 leaving behind two boxes of blueberry Eggo waffles, hours of unwatched Dancing with the Stars, Judge Judy, Golden Girls reruns, and lots of memories.

Patricia is survived by her three children, daughters Kelley Paschold and Sharon Cairns and son Robert Cairns, three grandchildren Alex, Hailey, and Nicole, and many beloved family members and friends.

She is predeceased by her devoted husband William “Bill” Cairns of almost sixty years, parents Mabel and Joseph Wynne, birth parents Alice and Bernie Wynne, brothers Edward and John Wynne, and sister Dorothy Gillen, and her favorite little girl, a Pomerenian named Mary Lou.

A tough cookie and matriarch of the Cairns, Wynne, Gillen, McQuaid, and Stout clans, Patricia loved and cared for her friends and family fiercely. With open arms, and always an open door, their home was a safe place to fall for those most important to them.

An avid fan of dance, ice cream, changing up card game rules, a Manhattan with nine thousand cherries - hold the Manhattan. Patricia lived life to the fullest. As we say goodbye to Patricia, we celebrate an outgoing, witty, vivacious woman filled with feist and even more kindness. Though Patricia will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to shine.

In remembrance of Patricia’s life, the family requests charitable donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
