Robert “Bob” Young of Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey died peacefully in his sleep on January 3,2023. He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends. At 6”8” tall, Bob was trulya larger than life.
Born on December 30, 1960, to Dick and Donna Young, he grew up in Lewiston, New York andr graduated from Lewiston-Porter High School in 1979. His experience as a high school basketball player left him with a deep connection to his hometown. Bob was passionate about sports, from his young years playing at Red Brick, and later for Lew-Port he left a big impression.
Bob was a family man. He was actively involved in the lives of his kids, supporting them in their athletics and activities. So much so, that he was known for being at every practice and game for his son’s soccer team. Bob also loved cooking, grilling, and preparing new recipes and considered himself a good cook.
He loved to tease. Everywhere he went, he brought smiles and laughter. He worked many years at Lawes Environmental Services where he was a founder and co-owner.
He didn’t live long enough, but he lives on in our memories and stories.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Theresa (Somers), son Matthew, and daughter Charlotte as well as his mother Donna, 2 sisters, Jane and Ruth (Phil Buffett), and 3 brothers, Rich (Jan Danilowicz), Don (Jenny Hutson), and Peter (Sveta) and his many friends.
A memorial service will be held on January 13 at Posten-McGinley Funeral Home at 59 East Lincoln Ave., Atlantic Highlands, NJ at 10 AM.
