Joan Butera, 82, of Atlantic Highlands, NJ passed away on February 16, 2022. Joan grew up in Brooklyn, then moved with her husband Dominick to NJ after the birth of their son Victor in 1960. She attended Thomas Edison College and Brookdale Community College. Joan was employed as a part-time substitute teacher in Middletown while her children were young, then worked as a supervisor for Lanvin Charles of the Ritz in Holmdel for many years, followed by a change in her vocation to real estate agent until she retired in 2019. She was scout leader for all three of her children, and involved in her community Chamber of Commerce in Atlantic Highlands for many years. She loved traveling with her family and friends, and spending time with close friends while bowling, enjoying classical symphonies, and discussing current events over coffee and lunch.

Joan is predeceased by her husband, Dominick V. Butera and her son-in-law Phillip Antone. Surviving are her son, Victor Butera and her daughter-in-law Ann-Marie, her daughter Karen Antone, her daughter Eileen and son-in-law Everett Hughes, and her grandchildren Danielle, Kyle and Angela Butera, Phillip, Kristin and Kie Antone, Ryan Hughes, and her great grandson Finnian Saunders..
