Vincent “Whitey” Supienski 1945 – 2026


LEONARDO, NJ – Vincent “Whitey” Supienski, 81, of Leonardo, New Jersey, passed away on April 21, 2026, at Bayside Manor in Keansburg, NJ.


Born on April 2, 1945, in Long Branch, NJ, to the late Chester “Jake” and Edna Supienski, Whitey was a lifelong resident of Leonardo, where he resided with his beloved late wife, Linda (Dashkavich) Supienski.


After graduating from Middletown High School, Whitey proudly entered the United States Navy. He later dedicated his life to public service, becoming a career firefighter for the federal government. He served at Sandy Hook/Fort Hancock, Fort Monmouth, and Naval Weapons Station Earle, where he achieved the rank of Captain before his retirement.


Whitey was part of a proud, multi-generational family of firefighters. His grandfather, Joseph Supienski, helped found the Brevent Park Fire Company and served for 57 years. His father, Jake Supienski, also served as a volunteer and became Middletown's Fire Chief in 1977. Continuing this legacy, Whitey was a lifelong member and volunteer firefighter at Station 2 - Brevent Park Fire Company.


An avid outdoorsman, Whitey loved hunting and playing golf with his buddies. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.


Whitey was predeceased by his devoted wife, Linda Supienski; his parents, Chester “Jake” and Edna Supienski; his brother, Joseph Supienski; as well as many other deeply cherished family members and friends.


He is survived by his loving children: James (Janine) Homiak, Alyson (Brian) Sheehen, Lauren (Ken) Aravich, Jodie Rockafellow, Joseph (Stacy) Supienski, and Jamie (Rich) Gerhart. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Jonathan, Meghan, Paulina, Shannon, Patrick, Luke, Jake, Kevin, Gavin, Emilly, Brayden, Ava, Clementine, Josh, Ashley, Dylan, Jason, Julia, and Elliana.


Service Details:


● Visitation: Friday, April 24, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Posten-McGinley Funeral Home, 59 East Lincoln Ave., Atlantic Highlands, NJ. A special Firemen’s Service will be held at 7:00 PM.


● Funeral Service: Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Posten-McGinley Funeral Home, 59 East Lincoln Ave., Atlantic Highlands, NJ.


● Burial: Immediately following the funeral service at All Saints Memorial Church Cemetery, 202 Navesink Ave., Navesink, NJ.
