Joseph "Joey" Juliano Obituary

Joseph “Joey” Juliano, 55, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away on November 27, 2025. Born on April 27, 1970, in Staten Island, New York, Joey grew up surrounded by family, friends, and the vibrant community that helped shape the warm, generous person he became.

Joey graduated from Tottenville High School and went on to attend Adirondack Community College. In Staten Island, he worked alongside his family in their Italian restaurants, beginning at Pal Joey’s at a young age. His natural talent in the kitchen—especially his gift for making pizza—became one of the many ways he shared love with others.

After relocating to South Carolina, Joey found purpose in serving the public schools, first as a school bus driver and later as a custodian. He had a special way with children and animals, and his caring, personable nature touched everyone who knew him. Joey was devoted to his three beloved “boys”—his dogs Jeter and River, and his cat Oreo—who brought him endless joy and companionship.

During his years in New York, Joey was an enthusiastic sports and music fan. He loved attending Yankees and Giants games, and he rarely missed a chance to see live music—especially concerts by Bruce Springsteen, whose songs were a constant soundtrack in his life.

Joey is survived by his father, John Juliano; his sisters, Janet Juliano and Gina Juliano; his nieces, Kaitlyn Buczek, Laura Buczek, and Gianna Rigney; and his paternal grandmother, Alyce Juliano. He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Alba Juliano; his brother, John F. Juliano; his paternal grandfather, Francis Juliano; and his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Laura Andreano. Joey will be deeply missed by his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A memorial Mass will be held on December 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Huguenot, Staten Island. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marty’s Place Senior Dog Sanctuary (martysplace.org), in honor of Joey’s love for animals.
