Laurie Meahan Obituary

Laurie Meahan Obituary

With deep love and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Laurie Meahan. A remarkable woman whose strength and unwavering spirit touched every life she encountered. Laurie passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025 after living courageously with Multiple Sclerosis. From the beginning, Laurie met every challenge with resilience and a determination that inspired everyone around her. She refused to be defined by her illness. Even in moments of pain she lived with compassion, humor, and a belief in the goodness of people. Laurie was a source of light and encouragement. She had a way of listening that made others feel seen and a way of loving that made them feel treasured.

Laurie was employed for many years at ESP, a company that provided her with purpose, community and a group of lifelong friends. When Laurie wasn’t working, she devoted her time to her daughter Alyx, and to their beautiful home which was always filled with family, friends, and neighbors. Laurie loved the holidays: decorating her home inside and out, cooking, and baking the most amazing chocolate chip cookies! In her free time, Laurie spent many fun nights enjoying wine, telling stories, and laughing at her all-time favorite restaurant - Salt Creek Grill (especially with her friend Jeannette).

Though MS entered Laurie’s life at a young age, it never slowed her down or overshadowed her spirit. No one ever heard her complain or take pity on herself. Laurie taught us all what courage looks like: choosing hope, choosing joy, and choosing laughter every day.

Laurie is survived by her adored daughter Alyx, her former husband and good friend Chip Meahan, her sisters Robin Brennan Lueddeke, Cathy Bailey, and Patti Brennan Thomas, her Uncle Terry, and her beloved nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind the special friends who helped her through the difficult days: Peggy Byrne, Doug King Sr., Doug King Jr., Jeanne Musone, Jean Springsteen, and Pat Springsteen. Laurie is predeceased by her parents, Tim and Jean Brennan.

Laurie lives on in the lives she touched, the resilience she modeled, and the kindness she shared so freely. We mourn her loss deeply, but we celebrate the extraordinary life she lived.

We hope that Laurie is sharing a laugh and a glass of Franzia with Tim and Jean up there somewhere.

The family asks that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to
