France Guilbault Armstrong Obituary

France Guilbault Armstrong, age 73, of Atlantic Highlands, N.J. passed away at home on September 20, 2025, after battling a long illness. France was born in Quebec, Canada, on July 12, 1952, to Emile and Helen Guilbault.  She met her loving husband, William Armstrong, Jr., in 1972 in St. Petersburg, FL, while vacationing at the Happy Dolphin Inn. They fell in love and married on June 2, 1973. Upon marrying, she moved to the United States. Within 2 weeks of marriage, she became hospitalized for a brief illness, and despite French as her primary language, her doctor offered her a job working in his office as a secretary, where she learned how to speak English from all of her colleagues. She became a U.S. citizen in 1985, which she was incredibly proud of.

France enjoyed meeting people, socializing, and working hard. She always gave 100% in everything she did. She had a long career working as a dental assistant, teaching dental radiology at Brookdale Community College, teaching French at The Language School, Red Bank, and banquet serving at the Channel Club, Monmouth Beach, and Branches, West Long Branch, for several years.

She truly loved her grandchildren, her dogs, and all animals. She had many hobbies, including reading, dancing, gardening, kayaking, swimming, skiing, biking, bowling, and playing ping pong, having won a Champion medal in the Poconos during her Honeymoon. She also enjoyed sewing Christmas ornaments, her children's clothing, Baptismal and Communion dresses, and all of their Halloween costumes.

She will be greatly missed and will forever live in our hearts.

She is survived by her husband William, 3 children, Jason Armstrong, Melanie (Daniel) Rapolla, and Rebecca Armstrong, and 4 beloved grandchildren, Grace, Emily, Scarlet, and Reese, her brothers Robert Guilbault, Yvon Guilbault, and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, and nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Posten-McGinley Funeral Home, Atlantic Highlands, on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 3-7 p.m. Her funeral service will be held at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Atlantic Highlands, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 10 a.m.; burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Red Bank, N.J.
