Robert John Gallagher, age 59, of Matawan, NJ passed away on June 29, 2025 at home due to

 complications with diabetes. Bobby was a loving son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and

 friend. He was born at Riverview Hospital in Red Bank. He grew up in Keansburg NJ, attended

 St Ann's Grammar School, graduated from St Mary’s High School in South Amboy in 1984. He

 was a brilliant student. Childhood summers were spent swimming at pool clubs and beaches at

 the Jersey Shore. There are many happy memories from the Lighthouse Pool Club in

 Keansburg. Bobby explored the country, moving out west, living in Wyoming and L.A., where he

 pursued an interest in acting for a while, before returning home to NJ. He chose to live a simple

 lifestyle. He had a strong work ethic. He worked in school transportation for several years. He

 was an avid reader and a talented writer. He enjoyed going to the library, playing guitar, going

 to the movies, and listening to music. He was a big fan of the band Oasis, whose lead singers

 are brother’s that share his name, Gallagher. He found pleasure in watching the strategies of a

 good chess match or a backgammon game. He also found interest in following important court

 cases in NY. All who knew him would forever remember his kind, gentle nature and his

 compassion for others. He was predeceased by his grandparents Margaret and Hugh

 Gallagher. Surviving are his mother Martha-Ellen Gallagher, his sister Ellen Costello and

 husband Peter, his niece Isabella Costello, his nephew Brian Costello, his Uncle Michael

 Gallagher and wife Alison, and many cousins and friends. He left a lasting impression on all who

 knew him, he left us far too early, he was greatly loved and he will be deeply missed.
