Julia E. Couret, affectionately known as Julie, passed away on June 24, 2025, at Artis Memory Care. Born on October 1, 1946, in Havana Cuba, and immigrated to her beloved United States of America in 1961, she lived a life that left behind vivid memories filled with love and vitality. Julie was a spirited individual, known for her infectious energy and love of dancing. Always embracing life to the fullest, she relished every opportunity to celebrate, whether through dance or creating vibrant puzzles and coloring crafts.

She is survived by: her son Mark A. Couret and Partner Tara Butler, Richard Couret and wife Marsha, and Denise Budin and husband Bill, granddaughter Alex J. Couret, grandsons Jacob, Karson and Isaac.Isaac and great grandchildren Fae, Rian and Kairi Ann. Despite losing her cherished brothers, José and Roberto Penate, and her mother, Librada Chala Penate Suri, father Jose Penate and love of her life Jose Couret, Julie filled every room with joy and warmth.

Though faced with Alzheimer's and Dementia in recent years, Julie's zest for life remained unwavering. Her laughter and enthusiasm were contagious and brought warmth into any room she entered.

A memorial service to celebrate Julia's life will be held on June 28th from 4 to 7 PM at the Posten-McGinley Funeral Home, 59 East Lincoln Avenue, Atlantic Highlands, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund in her memory, supporting Alzheimer's and Dementia research. As Julie would advocate: "When you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance."
