Arlene F. Dorsey (Schmedes), age 76, formerly of Highlands passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday April 1, 2025. She grew up in Highlands and then moved to Toms River. She graduated from Henry Hudson High School in 1966 and worked in the Accounting Department atFort Monmouth for many years before enjoying her retirement in 2019.She was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH). She loved the beach, boating, traveling, entertaining and was an incredibly talented seamstress. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and spoiling them whenever she got the chance.

She was predeceased by her husband Ralph, her parents Frances and Eileen Schmedes, her sisters and brothers-in-law Edith and Michael (Mickey) Debbs and Patricia and Peter Murray.

She is survived by her beloved son Peter Riess, his wife Cyndi, two Grandchildren Michael and Nicole, her Great Granddaughter Hazel, and her dog Gidget. Numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Friends and Family are invited for Visitation and a Memorial service at Posten-McGinley Funeral Home 59 E. Lincoln Avenue, Atlantic Highlands NJ 07716 on Friday April 4, 2025, 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00. Interment will be held at a later date.
