Nobuko Every Obituary

Nobuko Every, nicknamed Nobi, of Shokan NY passed away in Keansburg New Jersey on January 24th, 2025. She was 94.


Nobi was born on March 28, 1930 in Japan and lived in Tokyo. There she met Kendall Every who was serving in the United States Air Force. They married on June 10, 1957.


Nobi returned with Kendall to the U.S. where they built a life together. They eventually settled in Shokan to raise their family. Nobi worked as a hairdresser and brought up four children alone while her husband was deployed overseas.


The name Nobuko translated means “faithful or good child”, words she embodied her whole life. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved animals and rarely complained about anything. Later in life Nobi and Kendall enjoyed winter months in Florida before eventually moving full time to New Jersey to be near their daughter Lisa.


She is survived by her husband Kendall, and four children. Kenneth Every of Lake Luzurne, NY and his wife Deborah; John Every of Austin, Texas; Robert Every of Rosendale, NY and his wife Susan; Lisa Sanders of Atlantic Highlands, NJ and her husband Adam; she is also survived by four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.


Nobuko will be entrusted to the Posten-McGinley Funeral Home for cremation. The internment will be private.
